I am an economist with three masters degrees, a data scientist and urban planner who has actively championed CIVIL RIGHTS and equal opportunities for Tarrant County residents. I’ve been involved with important issues in the 2nd Precinct for over 20 years as an election judge and as a precinct chair for the Democratic Party. I will work hard to improve the quality of life for all Tarrant County residents.
In 2003, I had the honor of co-founding and organizing a National Civil Rights Conference that brought together key CIVIL RIGHTS leaders in the United States for a discussion on the important issues facing the struggle for equal rights and equal opportunities. Recognizing the importance of registering to vote and actively participating in the political process, I became a steering committee member for the largest one-day voter registration event in the DFW metroplex. My dedication to equality and justice prompted me to co-found the South Asia Democracy Watch, an organization that addresses issues relating to democracy, human rights and women’s rights. Additionally, I organized and delivered a conference on gendercide on the UT Dallas campus and assembled the International Conference on Women in War Zones in 2015.
My goal has always been to demonstrate a commitment to Tarrant County residents through decades of involvement in the political process. The future growth and development of Tarrant County demands fresh and innovative policies to address the issues confronting our county and residents. As an economist, analyst, and active citizen, I hope to bring the necessary knowledge and experience to best serve the people of Tarrant County. Together on this journey we can push for a positive and progressive vision for our county.
